Betfair Brazil Licensing Changes From 1st January 2025

From January 1, 2025, due to regulatory licensing changes in Brazil, all API Software Vendors wishing to continue serving Brazil-based customers must update their software to comply with Brazil-specific licensing requirements.

Key Licensing Changes

Web based (Vendor Web API) Software Vendor apps cannot be provided to Brazil based customers.

“Follow/Copy me/Tipping” style automated cannot be provided to Brazil based customers.

Customers with Betfair accounts registered in Brazil will no longer be able to make API requests to the existing ‘betfair.com’ domain. Any such requests will be automatically blocked by IP-based restrictions.

Automated bets are permitted providing they are configured by the customer under the conditions they stipulate. If those conditions then change before bet placement, the customer must have the opportunity to accept those changes before placement is made.

Only downloadable desktop & native mobile applications will be permitted.

All apps must be fully translated into Portuguese.

The Mac program does not require a subscription.

Please note that this is an initial version and may not have all the features found in the Windows program. Currently, it only offers a grid representation of prices. Do not think that someone will steal your idea. Important conditions of entry, exit can be hidden behind the parameters. For example, your strategy should enter the market at 25 minutes and go to 30. You set two parameters for EntryTime and ExitTime. And no one will know your secret.

Betfair has imposed restrictions on the use of old security protocols.

At the moment, the program can only be used in Windows 10

Given the end of support for the Windows 7 system by Microsoft, I recommend everyone to switch to Windows 10

In week commencing 28^th October Betfair will be deprecating support for specific TLS ciphers.

Disabling support for these TLS ciphers means that Betfair customers using the below browsers/operating system and language versions will no longer be able to log-in using the Betfair website or API (i.e. via identitysso.betfair.com)
